Knox County Chapter OHC

Our group is composed of both older & younger riders that enjoy riding, having fun, and getting outdoors with their equine partners. Knox County has both gaited & non-gaited members.  We provide many opportunities for equine owners & equine advocates to share in many activities through out the year such as a tack auction, trail maintenance, trail rides, campouts, social functions such as fall campout/trail ride, after winter party, & many other fun events.

KCOHC works closely with the Knox County Parks District maintaining the trails at Thayer Ridge Park. At Thayer Ridge we not only ride the trails there but we also have scavenger hunts & trail challenges. Thayer Ridge is a multi use trail in southern Knox County.  It is used by equestrians, mountain bikers, hikers, disc golf and bird watchers. Our dedicated members have made it their mission to keep the trail open to all, and make improvements to benefit the park. Several members are also park volunteers at Lobdell Reserve in Licking Co. We are dedicated to improvements of surrounding county trails that we often use such as Dillion & Alum Creek State Parks.

We host at least one campout/trail ride a month throughout the year. You may view the list of not only the scheduled trail ride but also our monthly meetings & any special events such as a scavenger hunt, & trail challenges. On most Saturday nights we will have a potluck dinner, campfires, & games
