About Us
Preble County Chapter
PCOHC is very active within the Preble County, Ohio which encompasses Camden and Oxford as well as Eaton. Preble County OHC has adopted the Hueston Woods State Park Horseman’s Campground and trails as our base bridle trails.
There have been a lot of improvements made not only to the campground but also to the bridle trails within the park, over the end of 2018 and all of 2019 our volunteers have worked very hard to rework the “A” trail, “B” trail, “D” trail and part of “C” trail. With the help of our volunteers and the Park maintenance crews we have been very successful in re-working these trails to make them more enjoyable for all horsemen to enjoy.
We have monthly meetings and several fund raisers each year, and we are especially proud of our State Ride held the first weekend of October. We also hold 3 fun speed shows per year weather permitting for any and all who would like to come and try their hand and steed at the various speed classes.
We are very proud to sponsor ten 4-H classes at the Preble County Fair each year, showing our support of the youth and future stewards of our wonderful trails at Hueston Woods State Park. Some of the 4-H clubs come out spend a weekend enjoying the trails and camping with their horses and families.
Our organization is an enthusiastic and dedicated group of horse people helping to keep trail riding and equine events available for the future generations of horse enthusiasts. We want there to be trails available for the up and coming generations of horse people who will carry on the dreams of our past generations of horsemen.
Feel free to contact us for information about our next meeting, ride or get together! Happy trails ya’ll!
