Delaware Chapter completes 2020 OHC Grant Project on Alum Creek Winterhawk West trail

On Thursday March 12, 2020, our Delaware Chapter trail maintenance volunteers along with several representatives from Cashmans Horse Equipment, completed the installation of Cashmans mud solution grids on the north end of our Winterhawk West trail just north of the Kilbourne Crossing platform.

This was our 2020 Ohio Horseman’s Council Grant project. Our original grant proposal was to build three wooden boardwalks to help reduce this very muddy section of the trail. Cashmans suggested we consider their mud solution grids as an alternative. Partnering with Cashmans, we used our $750 grant from the OHC along with our matching $750 and installed 278 mud grids covering over 200 feet of the trail. Check out the photos!
