There are many creek crossings, over the Buck and Charlemont Creeks, two headwater creeks flowing roughly south to north. Also along the trail, there are seven ponds, ranging from half acre to 2.1 acres. The trail runs from level to rolling through fields, and winds up and down hilly to short steep slopes through forested areas, along with a section of trail that was part of the old Ramsey Railroad bed that operated from 1914-1925.
