Tar Hollow State Forest, Ohio’s third largest, is home to 33 miles of bridle trails located in the unglaciated, rugged hills and steep valleys of southern Ohio. These trails loop through hardwood and coniferous forests on primitive, single-track trails with natural surfaces. There are many steep or long hills and stream crossings. The trailhead has 46 primitive campsites in a shaded grassy area with lots of shade. High lines, stock water and restrooms are available. Campers must self register. Because of the popularity of these trails, check on park websites to see if you need a reservation for camping, particularly on weekends and holiday
