The Wabash Cannonball Trail is a 63 mile multi-use recreational trail in northwest Ohio. It provides access to hikers, bikers, equestrians and cross-country skiers. The 12-foot wide trail surface varies within different jurisdictions, from asphalt to cinder and grass. The trail is mostly paved with asphalt with wide grass berms on the eastern end of the trail while the western and southern sections are gravel and grass. This rails-to-trail goes east from Montpelier to Toledo then southwest to Liberty Center. The type of trail surface to expect is shown on the trail maps as are GPS coordinates for different trailheads. The trailheads parking areas are usually gravel or grass with restrooms present or nearby.
