Hocking State Forest trails are maintained by Fairfield County Chapter OHC and trail partners. This location is the most popular trail in Ohio. The public campground has recent improvements including larger sites for rigs, electric and new restrooms. Camping is first come, first served until September 1, 2025. Main trails such as the orange, purple, red and blue are wide enough in places for 2-3 riders. White trails are primitive and will get you to the popular rock formations.

Moderate – Rolling to hilly terrain; short steeper slopes; water crossings; irregular trail surface; narrower trail widths.
Challenging – Steeper hills; unimproved trail surfaces, deeper or wider water crossings; boggy areas.
Difficult – Very steep hills; long climbs or descents; narrow trail widths; faster flowing and wider water crossings; deep water crossings.
